The demand for social services including welfare has been increasing
while our society faces the aging of the population, low birthrate,
and job-loss recovery.

This phenomenon needs more establishments of social
enterprises which are the core group of the social economy,
and needs development of them. Also, it is in keeping with
the global trend. Social enterprises are the way to solve the
crisis of welfare state and the problems of social elimination
while achieving social · public purpose through the
efficient management activity.

There has been increasing interest in social enterprises for
solving the unemployment and poverty. The interest in
social enterprises which are together with the government,
businesses, and civilians is increasing indeed and its fields
have been extending since enforcing the Act on the
Support of the Social enterprises.

『Academy of Social Enterprise(ASE)』 was established to
contribute to the development of the social enterprises
promoting the methodical studies and the place for debate.
